Attribution

The forecast combines external data sources with our own scoring, presentation, and fishing-window logic.

In short Source data informs the forecast, but the fishing score and layout are calculated by this app.
Current focus Weather, tide, pressure, sun, moon, and solunar signals for shore-based fishing around configured locations.

Weather data

Weather forecast data in this prototype may be sourced from WillyWeather or Open-Meteo depending on the configured backend.

Tide data

Tide data may be sourced from WillyWeather, WorldTides, or based on Bureau of Meteorology tide tables depending on backend configuration.

When WorldTides is used, tide heights are currently requested against chart datum so the graph reads like a familiar tide table.

Pressure data

Hourly pressure may be supplemented from Open-Meteo when the primary weather provider does not expose pressure in the form the scoring model needs.

Sun, moon, and solunar

Sunrise, sunset, moon phase, moonrise, moonset, and solunar periods are calculated in-app using Astronomy Engine and SunCalc.

Fishing forecast layer

This prototype combines source data into its own fishing forecast presentation and scoring layer. External data providers do not endorse or control the fishing score, the best-window selection, or the user interface.
